Contributor Agreement & Release Form

This project aims to document and preserve eyewitness stories of the Berlin Airlift through interviews, written recollections, and multimedia formats. Stories may appear in a book, documentary, or other media created for educational, historical, and cultural purposes.

1. Grant of Rights

The Contributor:

grants Culture to Color® (hereafter referred to as the 'Publisher') the non-exclusive, worldwide, and perpetual right to use, publish, and distribute the Contributor's story, recollections, and related materials provided as part of this project. This includes but is not limited to:

• Use in print publications (e.g., books, brochures)

• Use in digital formats (e.g., ebooks, websites)

• Use in multimedia formats (e.g., documentaries, video interviews)

• Adaptations, summaries, or excerpts for promotional purposes

The Publisher may edit the ContTextributor's story as needed, while preserving the integrity and core message of the original contribution.

2. Compensation

This is a voluntary contribution, and the Contributor agrees to receive no financial compensation. In appreciation for participation, the Publisher will provide the Contributor with a copy of the published book

3. Copyright and Ownership

The Contributor retains copyright ownership of their story but grants the Publisher a license to use and publish the material as outlined in this agreement. The Contributor may use and publish their story elsewhere without restrictions.

4. Privacy and Personal Information

The Publisher will collect the Contributor’s personal information (address, email, phone number) solely for communication purposes and for delivering copies of the book. This information will not be shared with third parties without consent.

5. Consent to Use Likeness (if applicable)

If the Contributor participates in video or photographic interviews, they grant permission for the Publisher to use their image, voice, and likeness in any related multimedia projects. This includes usage in:

• Documentaries, educational videos, and presentations

• Promotional materials (both print and digital)

6. Additional Contributor Information (Optional but Encouraged)

7. Submission of Photographs and Materials (Optional)

Contributors are encouraged to submit:

• Photos of themselves (then and now)

• Memorabilia, notes, or unique documents (e.g., diary pages, observation logs)

The Contributor confirms they own the rights to any submitted materials and grants the Publisher and Culture to Color® the non-exclusive right to use these materials in connection with this project, in both print and digital formats. This includes use in exhibitions, presentations, and promotions related to Voices of the Airlift.

8. Editorial Discretion

The Publisher reserves the right to include or not include any submitted story or materials in the final publication or related project components. Submission of a story does not guarantee its use. If your story is not used, you will be notified, and you retain all rights to use and share it elsewhere.

9. Irrevocable Consent

The Contributor acknowledges that this consent is irrevocable and perpetual. The materials may be used in future publications, media, and related projects without further notice or approval from the Contributor. The Publisher has no obligation to notify the Contributor of the project’s final release or publication schedule.

10. Release of Liability

The Contributor releases the Publisher, its employees, and its representatives from any and all claims, damages, or liability arising from the use of their contributions, story, image, or likeness in the project.

11. Entire Agreement

This document constitutes the entire agreement between the Publisher and the Contributor. No modifications to this agreement shall be binding unless made in writing and signed by both parties.
