A Personal Journey in the Spirit of Freedom
Dear Friends,
This past year has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the success of my book, Wings of Freedom, and the incredible opportunities to honor the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift in Germany and the US, I’ve felt deeply connected to the history and spirit of those who lived through those times.
A couple of weeks ago, I experienced something that truly touched my heart - I had the honor of flying in the Spirit of Freedom, a C-54 cargo plane that flew over 1,200 missions into Berlin during the Airlift. As I sat in that historic aircraft, I couldn’t help but think about the courage of the people who worked together to make the airlift successful, the gratitude of those who received the supplies, and the unity this humanitarian mission represented.
For me, this flight was more than just a highlight of the year; it was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and connection. And it was the perfect ending to this year, a year I spent in the spirit of the airlift. It brought the story I’ve been sharing through Wings of Freedom to life in a profoundly personal way!
This first edition of the Wings of Freedom newsletter is my way of continuing to share this incredible story and keep the legacy of the Berlin Airlift alive. I hope it inspires you as much as this journey has inspired me.

I had the incredible honor of delivering a keynote at the Burtonwood Association and Berlin Airlift Veterans Association (BAVA) reunion.
It was a privilege to share my story of growing up in Berlin during the Cold War in the aftermath of the Berlin Airlift and express my gratitude for what they accomplished.
The experience was truly inspiring - remembering those who played a part in changing the course of history. Here’s to celebrating their legacy and honoring the extraordinary individuals who remind us what courage really looks like.

2024 Gold Winner of the Human Relations Indie Book Awards - Historical Relations Indie Book Category. This award recognizes our efforts to foster understanding and appreciation of history through innovative formats. "Wings of Freedom" stood out in this category for its ability to connect past and present through engaging and interactive storytelling.

We received not one but two gold medals from this esteemed competition, highlighting our excellence both as a historical resource and as a creative activity book.
